Private Alfred Raymond LONGHURST, G/9059, 11th  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, Flanders, France, 15th September 1916. 

Born Sunninghill, Berkshire.

Enlisted Lewisham, SE, age 39, height 5ft 6 inches, weight 130lbs.  Resided Penge, SE. Formerly barman.

Husband of Mrs Sarah Longhurst, October 1917. 72 Hales Buildings, St Georges Road, SE; November 1919, 19 Lorimore Street, Camberwell, SE.

Children - Alfred Lennard Longhurst, born September 1903; Walter Stanley Longhurst, born September 1905; George Raymond Longhurst, born March 1908 - all living with guardian at 11 Acacia Road, Sydenham.

16th May 1917, pension of 12/6 a week awarded to guardian (Mrs Abigail Emblem, mother in law), of three children.

Buried at Bulls Road Cemetery, II. H. 18., Flers, France.
