Previously served Kent RGA Militia, purchased discharge.

Home, 5th September 1915 to 2nd May 1916; BEF, 3rd May 1916 to 31st October 1916; Home, 1st November 1916 to 19th May 1917.

5th September 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 5th September 1915, posted 10th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st April 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 16th September 1916, wounded; 28th April 1917, The King George Hospital, Stamford Street, SE1.

19th May 1917, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued

Pension, 27/6 a week for 9 weeks, then 19/3 a week for life.
