Born Herne Hill, Faversham, Kent, son of Daniel and Jane Baker, of 47, Ivy St., Rainham, Kent.

11th July 1903, Chilham, Kent, married Annie Maria Hodges, spinster, 50 Ivy Street, Rainham, Kent / 50, Albert Terrace, Ivy St., Rainham, Kent.

Children - Elsie Lily Baker, born 27th August 1915, Addisham, Kent; Ethel Mary Baker, born 23rd May 1907, Wingham, Kent; Albert Percy Baker, born  23rd August 1909, Blean, Kent; Winifrid Iris Baker, born 31st December 1912, Bapchild, Kent; Margaret Elizabeth Baker, born 9th May 1915, Rainham, Kent.

Enlisted  Chatham, Kent, age 34, height 5ft 7inches, weight 131lbs, resided 50 Ivy Street, Rainham, Kent. Formerly tram conductor.

Home 2nd November 1915 to 17th March 1916; BEF, 18th March 1916 to 3rd July 1916.

2nd November 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 7th November 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 9th February 1916, forfeits 6 days pay & deprived of 6 days pay; 18th March 1916, posted BEF & 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 3rd July 1916, posted missing.

12th March 1917, pension of 24/6 a week awarded for widow and five children.

Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, Pier & Face 11C, Somme, France.
