Private Albert CLOUT,  G/18292,  11th  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent  Regiment, died of wounds, (received in action at Hill 60), at No.10, General Hospital, Rouen, Flanders France, 30th September 1917, age 32.

Born Bodiam, Sussex, son of William Clout by his wife Elizabeth, (daughter of James Verrall, farm labourer),  of Ivy Cottage, Bodiam, Sussex.

Enlisted 15th January, Hastings, Sussex, age 30 years & 2 months, height 5ft 4¼ inches, weight 118lbs. Resided Ivy Cottage, Bodiam, Sussex. Formerly farm labourer.

Home 15th January 1916 to 5th September 1916; BEF 6th September 1916 to 13th June 1917; Home 14th June 1917 to 29th July 1917; BEF 30th July 1917 to 30th September 1917.

15th January 1916, enlisted; 16th January 1916, to Army Reserve; 8th April 1916, mobilized; 11th April 1916, posted 12th Battalion, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 1st September 1916, transferred to Training Reserve, 23rd Brigade; 1st September 1916, posted 99th Battalion, Training Reserve; 6th September 1916, posted BEF; 6th September 1916, embarked; 11th September 1916, joined 11th Battalion, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 24th January 1917, 14 days confined to Barracks, forfeits 7 days pay for improper conduct; 7th June 1917, wounded; 8th June 1917, 20 General Hospital, Camiens, gun shot wound leg, very slight; 14th June 1917, wounded, to England; 14th June 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 14th June 1917 to 20th July 1917, General Hospital, Bristol, gun shot wound, right thigh; 30th July 1917, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent  Regiment; 30th July 1917, posted BEF; 21st September 1917, wounded in action; 30th September 1917, died of wounds, gun shot wounds neck arm right, fractured spine.
