21st August 1900, Colling, Kent, married Olive Rose Randall, spinster, of  2, Norwood Villas, Cliffe-at-Hoo, Rochester, Kent.

Enlisted  Gravesend, Kent, age 36, height 5ft 8 inches, weight 141lbs.  Resided 13 Augustine Road, Gravesend, Kent / 3 Lower Range Road, Denton, Gravesend, Kent. Formerly dock labourer.

1st November 1915, enlisted; 5th November 1915, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 7th November 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 18th March 1916, posted BEF & 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 3rd July 1916, posted missing, wounded.

23rd April 1917, pension of 26/3 a week awarded to widow & three children.

Commemorated at  Thiepval Memorial, Pier & Face 11C,  Somme, France.
