Lieutenant Colin Knox ANDERSON, 3rd Battalion, attached "A" Company, 1st Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, 23rd August  1914, age 26.

Born 1888, Strood, Kent.

Youngest son of George Knox Anderson, D.L., J.P., and Mrs. Anderson, of Bridge Hill House, Canterbury, Kent.

Educated at Malvern College. A keen sportsman while at Malvern was a member of the Cricket XI, also of the Football XII and later was well known in Regimental cricket and with the Kent amateurs known as The Band of Brothers.

Obtained a 2nd Lieutenancy in the 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent in December 1908 and was promoted to Lieutenant 1st April 1911; served with the Expeditionary Force in France & Flanders, attached to the 1st Battalion.

Commemorated at Hautrage Military Cemetery, I.D.17., Saint-Ghislain, Hainaut, Belgium.
