Born Thorpe on the Hill, Lincoln, enlisted 7th September 1914, Maidstone, Kent, age 22, height 5ft 6 inches, weight 130lbs. Formerly hospital (assylum) attendant.

Husband to Mrs Helen East (nee Blowes), 1st London General Hospital, Camberwell. Married 25th November 1918, Thorpe on the Hill, Lincoln.

Postings - Home, 7th September 1914 to 29th August 1915; BEF, 30th August 1915 to 20th November 1918; Home, 21st November 1918 to 5th December 1918; BEF 6th December 1918.

Appointed Lance Corporal 4th October 1915, promoted Corporal 23rd September 1917.

Wounded 16th October 1915, gun shot wound right thumb.

Transferred to Reserve on Demobilisation, 24th March 1919 to Thorpe on the Hill, Lincoln.
