Born Margate, Kent, son of Gilbert & Jane Golder, of 72, Pembury Road, Tonbridge, Kent.

15th December 1909, Woodville, Derbyshire, Gilbert Golder, age 26, bachelor, Soldier, of Headley, father, Gilbert Golder, tailor, married Ellen Elizabeth Pickering, age 25, spinster, 4 Edward Street, father William Pickering, carter.

Enlisted Maidstone, Kent. Resided Union Lodge Farm, Overseal, Burton-on-Trent.


1911 Census, Quebee Barracks, West Kent Regiment, Bordon - Gilbert Golder, Private, age 28, married, 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, Soldier, born Margate.


11th September 1914, posted BEF.

Commemorated at  Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Panel 45 and 47, Belgium.

In pursuance of "The Regimental Debts Act, 1893," notice is hereby given that there is available for distribution amongst the Next of Kin or others entitled the sum of money set opposite to the name of each of the deceased Soldiers named in the lists which are published with this notice in the London Gazette and the " Army List," and are also to be seen at the Regimental Depots throughout the United Kingdom.

Applications from persons supposing themselves entitled as Next of Kin should be addressed by letter to " The Secretary, War Office, Park Buildings, St. James's Park, London, S.W.," and marked outside "Effects."
