Corporal Willie PIGGOTT, G/23271, 1st  Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, (formerly G/11524, The Buffs), killed in action, Flanders France, 27th September 1918, age 30.

Born Tatternhoe, Bedfordshire, enlisted Watford, Hertfordshire resided Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. 

Commemorated at Gouzeaucourt New British Cemetery, V. D. 14. France.

His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to award the Military Medal for bravery in the Field to the under mentioned Warrant Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and men:

23271 Pte. (A./Cpl.) Piggott, W., 1st Battalion. (Hemel Hempstead).
