Corporal William  LUCKMAN, G/2098, 7th  Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, Flanders, France, death assumed on or after 3rd May  1917, age 25.

Born Woolwich, Kent, enlisted 7th September 1914, Woolwich, Kent, age 23, height 5ft 7 inches, weight 125lbs. Formerly labourer in soap works.

Son of George and Alice Luckman, of 5, Gem St., Silvertown. London.

Postings - Home, 7th September 1914 to 25th July 1915; BEF, 26th July 1915 to 3rd May  1917.

8th May 1915, Colchester, overstaying his pass, 1 day confined to Barracks, forfeits 1 days pay.

4th December 1916, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 24th February 1917, promoted Corporal.

Note; unofficially accepted as killed in action 3rd May 1917, in view of the lapse of time and statement from Pte Hilsely, 17517,  Royal West Kent Regiment.

Commemorated at Arras Memorial, Bay 7, France.
