Corporal Charles James NICHOLLS, L/8814, 2nd  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, Mesopotamia Expeditionary Force, 24th July 1915, age 29.

Born Hoxton, Middlesex, enlisted Stratford, Essex.

Son of Charles Leonard Nicholls and Eliza Nicholls, of 28, South Grove, St. Ann's Road, South Tottenham, London.

Commemorated at Basra War Cemetery, II. R. 9., Iraq.

NOTE Regimental History & Soldiers Died in the Great War show rank as Corporal; CWGC web site show it as Lance Corporal.
