Captain John Ballard Berkeley FORD, 2nd Battalion, attached 7th Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died of wounds, (received on 14th February), 16th February 1917, age 29.

21st October 1887, born Kirkee, Bombay, India, Son of Maj. Gen. Sir Richard William Ford, K.C.M.G., C.B., D.S.O., and Lady Mary Augusta Ford.

5th November 1920 Probate - Ford John Ballard Berkeley of the Royal West Kent Depot, Maidstone, Captain Royal West Kent Regiment, died 16th February 1917 in France. Administration London 5th November to Sir Richard William Ford Major-General H.M. Army retired. Effects £104 12s 8d.

Buried at Dernancourt Communal Cemetery Extension, V. B. 25., France. Commemorated at St Nicholas, Wickham, Hampshire & Wellington College

In pursuance of “The Regimental Debts Acts 1893” notice is hereby given that there is available for distribution amongst the Next of Kin or others entitled the sum of money set opposite to the name of each of the deceased Soldiers named in the lists which are published with this notice in the London Gazette and the “Army List” and are also to be seen at the Regimental Depots throughout the United Kingdom.

Applications from persons supposing themselves entitled as Next of Kin should be addressed by letter to “Secretary, War Office, Imperial Institute, South Kensington, London, SW7” and marked outside “Effects”
