Company Serjeant Major George LEVITT, G/8569, 11th  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died of wounds, Flanders, France, 1st August 1917, age 26. 

Born Wittersham, Kent, son of John and Charlotte Levitt, of Ninfield, Sussex.

Husband of Mary Isabel Levitt, of 4, Brooklyn Road, Seaford, Sussex.

Enlisted Lewes, Sussex.  Resided Battle, Sussex.

Buried at Godewaersvelde British Cemetery, I. A. 32., France.

AWARDS: MM

NOTE: CWGC web site shows date of death as 31st July 1917.

His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to award the Military Medal for bravery in the Field to the under mentioned Lady, Non - commissioned Officers and Men:
