Son of Mr H Haydon, 31 High Street, Sandwich, Kent.

Appointed unpaid Lance Corporal, 12th January 1916; appointed Lance Corporal 3rd September 1916; appointed Acting Corporal, 23rd September 1916; promoted to Corporal, 23rd September 1916; appointed Acting Company Quartermaster Sergeant, 2nd January 1917; confirmed as Company Quartermaster Sergeant substantive rank, 7th April 1917; appointed Acting Company Sergeant Major, 9th October 1917; reverts to Company Quartermaster Sergeant, 28th January 1918; transferred to Reserve & discharged 22nd May 1919 to 50 Gilford Road, Deal, Kent.

For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty and consistent good work. He has always carried out his duties with great skill, and has shown splendid coolness under fire.
